Varsity College Cape Town's annual Moot Court Competition was held on the evening of September 7th 2011. Judge Andre Le Grange, Judge of the Western Cape High Court, presided. The trial itself was rated by all present as a riveting success - one could not hear a pin drop as the arguments proceeded.
LexisNexis provided token gifts for all particpants, a special token for the judge and book prizes for the two competing teams. The proceedings were tense at times, and information sometimes came through at the last minute. However, Judge Andre felt that it was a good reflection of real life in a courtroom, and the students learned a tremendous amount from being in situ.
